Our chamber reamers are made to CIP specifications. You may also request a reamer to SAAMI specification or use our custom reamer form to specify your own chamber dimensions. Both CIP and SAAMI specify minimum chamber specifications, which means the chamber should not be smaller than this and we will generally make our reamers with diameters about 0.01mm (0.0004") up on those specified so that they wear down to minimum size rather than wear under minimum size. Finishing reamers will include the lead and throat. Roughing reamers will be made with all diameters about 0.15mm (0.006") undersize. Our steel of choice for chamber reamers is M2 high speed steel. We are also now making reamers in carbide.
Our chamber reamers are made to use floating pilot bushes as standard. The pilot spigot sizes will be the same as that generally used by chamber reamer manufacturers in the USA. Our pilots are therefore interchangable with those used on most chamber reamers made in the USA. We do not supply reamers with pilots as standard. (Most gunsmiths will probably have a draw full of pilots which will fit the reamer anyway). If you need a pilot with the reamer, a pilot can be purchased separately - see below.
The shank size at the back of the reamer is generally 11.113mm (7/16" or 0.4375") which is also the standard in the US. Large reamers such as 50 BMG or 12 bore will have a 19.05 (3/4" or 0.75") shank size. All shanks will have a flat on the side.
For the more common reamers we now starting to have them IN STOCK for immediate delivery. See the list below for details of what we have so far.
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling, euros and US dollars. The euro and dollar prices are based on the price in pounds, which is converted using the Royal Bank of Scotland (buying) exchange rate to euros and dollars. If you pay by credit card, you may choose to pay in euros or dollars. An extra 5% over and above the bank's buying exchange rate is added to the euro and dollar price to account for various charges in changing from these currencies into pounds.

Floating pilot bushes
Our pilots are ground, internally and externally, to an accuracy of 0.0001". If you order a pilot, you can either choose one to the standard CIP bore size or you can specify one to fit the particular barrel you want to chamber. For a slight discount, you can order a set of three pilots, varying in diameter by 0.0005" with one under, one on-size and one over the nominal bore diameter.

Headspace gauges for all standard cartridges are made.
